CSI Program (California Solar Initiative): EXPIRED
The California Solar Initiative rebates had applied to all investor-owned and municipal utilities in California. Incentives were awarded as a one-time, up-front payment based on expected performance. Currently the only utility in the Inland Empire with remaining incentives is Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES).
Solar 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC): ACTIVE
Congress has extended the Federal Solar Tax Credit though December 31, 2019. In 2020, the tax credit drops to 26%, and in 2021 it will be 22% after such time that it will be phased down to 10% over a period of 5 years. If a customer’s tax liability is not as large as the value of the solar tax credit, customers can carry forward tax credit for up to 3 years. This tax credit can also be deducted directly from a customer’s AMT liability. Please check with your tax professional for all rules and laws.
